Entoloma hochstetteri (3)

A NZ $2.00 coin shows the size.
Note the gentle twist in the stem, (stipe) which is a characteristic feature of entolomas.
The spores of entolomas are pink.

These natural light pictures have the colour balance preset using a white card at the time of digital photography, to avoid colour casts under the dense forest canopy.

The stereoscopic picture is a green / blue specimen from the Hunua ranges. It was found very early in the mushroom season (March, 2004) when very few other toadstools were out. In June another single fruiting body was found in almost the same spot, but it was grey / blue. These delicate shades are not shown on a fungus colour chart from England ("The Encylopedia of Fungi of Britain and Europe" by Michael Jordan).

The first two pictures are X stereo.
You may have to pan right to see U stereo because the triplet image is 1080 pixels wide.
