20070518 Sunspot 956

2 days after the 20070516 solar flare

Stereoscopic images

Sunspot 956 two days after the 16th May flare, taken by Emiel Veldhuis. The sun has rotated and the spot is shown to better advantage.

The sunspot is complex and contains filaments. The main filament points in the direction of the previous solar flare and curves upwards, in the same direction the flare-associated filament eruption progressed.
