Full details of how the image was taken are available on his web site, but it would not be easy to reproduce the quality Luiz has achieved. The original astrophotography, seen at the above link, was so outstanding, it cried out for a 3D conversion.
Conversion to cross-eye stereoscopic model by Kiwizone (and size of the image reduced). The stereo is John Wattie's imagination, not actual 3D, since true stereoscopic parallax from a gas cloud so far away from earth is impossible.
B. Allen Anderson of Sweden has turned this image into an anaglyph, for those who cannot see in cross-eye 3D.
